Voting Begins for 2011 Theme Park Awards

Find out whether Disney got any nominations...

Last month, I wrote a short article about the 2011 Readers Choice Theme Park Awards organized by Arthur Levine, the Theme Park Guide for About.com.

Nominations were accepted through February 11, and then Arthur took a few days to select the finalists. It's now time to vote!

You have until March 8 to cast votes in four categories:

Arthur had this to say about the early voting trends:

"Because some parks are actively rallying their fans, there are some interesting developments in the voting results thus far. For example, in the best new park attraction category, the relatively under-the-radar Ghost Ship at Morey's Piers has a commanding lead, despite the presence of more high-profile finalists such as Universal's King Kong 360 3-D and Cedar Point's Shoot the Rapids. And the best roller coaster contest appears to be coming down to a duel between the two Intimidators."

So how did Disney do with nominations?

Not so hot. It got one nomination in the Best New Theme Park Show category for World of Color at Disney's California Adventure. That's it. One nomination.

Mickey, hang your head low.

Arthur will announce the winners on March 15.

Don't stop there! More Tidings Await...
