Give Peace a Chance at the Polynesian

John Lennon disbands the Beatles at Disney World

This isn't exactly news, since most of you know that the Beatles ended their partnership unofficially in 1969.

What you may not know, however, is that the group officially disbanded only when John Lennon added his signature to a legal document dissolving their partnership.

He was the last Beatle to sign.

And he signed in his room at the Polynesian Resort in December 1974.

I've known this fascinating bit of 'rock 'n roll meets Disney' trivia for awhile, but I saw it brought to light again today on the equally fascinating blog, Disney and the Beatles.

Sara, the author, has pictures of the rooms at the Polynesian circa early 1970s and also a nice selection of shots depicting John Lennon at Disney World.

Sara's information comes from a book written by May Pang, a former Lennon girlfriend who since his death has built a career writing books about her relationship with Lennon, including her most famous, 'Loving John: The Untold Story'.

May Pang had taken a photo of Lennon signing the historic document. Sara posted the photo. Immediately, Pang's 'people' asked that she take it down.

If you'd like to see the photo, the Daily Mail has it on display.

The picture shows a hand holding a pen signing a name on a document. It features three copyright notices from May Pang who claims the picture is worth 1.2 million pounds. For that, I believe she will remove the copyright notices for free.

But the take-away today isn't so much May's picture as it is Sara's site. Check it out!

Don't stop there! More Tidings Await...
