Perfect Jungle Cruise Elephant
Every Disney picture tells a Disney story, don't it, and today our perfect picture comes from Gary Burke, who braved a playful but determined squirting elephant in Adventureland's Jungle Cruise to capture on film some bona-fide Disney magic.
Park Perfect has become so popular that I've decided to feature a shot from a different photographer each day rather than devote an entire week to one photographer. You'll still see multiple shots from the same shooters, just not consecutively.
One of the favorite parts of the Jungle Cruise is the sacred elephant bathing pool.
Those new to the ride, especially kids new to the ride, delight in a particular elephant. He's sitting on his leathery rump, swaying ever so slightly, and squirting a stream of water through his trunk.
While you're busy evading his spew, here's what your skipper is saying:
"Now we're entering the sacred bathing pool of the Indian Elephants. And it looks like it's our lucky day, because the whole herd has come down to bathe. You know elephants are very intelligent animals. Some people say that they never forget. I'd have to say that's true, because they never forget to show up when our boats come through."
It's amazing how a corny script and a fake squirting elephant are the stuff of memorable memory for so many Disney guests!
I can't remember ever seeing a more perfect photo of the squirting elephant than the one shot recently by Gary Burke. The detail is nothing short of spectacular. Squirt me if I'm wrong, but I think the picture of this elephant is even better than the real thing.
Mostly because the picture doesn't squirt...
