It Came from Disney!

About the Column

If Disney piled all its themed merchandise in one place, it would likely reach to infinity - and beyond. You see it everywhere: at the parks, online, in your neighbor's house. And you're tempted, sorely tempted, to make it yours: not always because you need it but because it came from Disney. For many people, that means irresistible. But fight the urge, just for a moment, until you've read what Jessica Clawson thinks about that irresistible piece of Disneyana. Chances are, she has already succumbed to the urge - and now, temporarily recovered, wants to tell you whether it was worth it.

PoMo Galaxy Jewelry

Jessica gives a little insight into PoMo Galaxy Jewelry and picks out a wonderful piece to show this column.

Working the Celebrations Magazine booth at the D23 Expo was an amazing experience for so many reasons, but the one that stands out to me the most is the people I got to meet. So many people came up to me to talk about Disney and the magazine and the interactions with them are some of my strongest memories.

One that comes to mind right away is a conversation with two gentlemen about purchasing the magazine. They were so nice and I loved talking to them, they even subscribed to the magazine! After we had completed the transaction, they said that they enjoyed working with me and wanted to give me something. The pulled out a bunch of necklaces out of their bag and told me to pick one.  This is how I was first introduced to PoMO jewelry.

The whole necklace and pendant

Little did I know when I was talking to them that Todd and Doug were the owners of PoMoGalaxy.com and had created these awesome pieces of jewelry. They showed me the bangles that they had made for Paige O’Hara and the other princesses who were inducted as Disney Legends at the Expo and I was so impressed not only by the beauty of the bangles, but the overall craftsmanship.  These are not just your everyday bangles, there is such thought and care in each piece, as I found with my necklace.

Close up
Close up on the pendant. It's almost as if Leota's crystal ball is around my neck!

I had picked a necklace with Madame Leota in it, as she is a Disney park character from a ride that I enjoy.  The cord is a black satin that is of a decent thickness that I am certainly not worried about it fraying or breaking. The clasp is a golden lobster claw. The drop is black with glitter mixed in and the blue picture of Leota is encased within the drop behind what feels like a glass marble. The whole drop is very smooth and has the letter “PoMo” etched very tastefully on the back. I have worn this necklace several times already and have gotten a few compliments on it.  It is very unique!

The shimmer and detail in these pendants are so awesome!

When you go to the website, PoMoGalaxy.com, you are able to view the different types of bangles that are sold as well as the necklace and earring options. There is also the option of customizing your jewelry, not only with pictures, but with the colors and types of material used to make the jewelry. The possibilities are endless and the product is of the highest quality.  The prices are quite reasonable as well, with $25-$35 for the pendant necklace, $30 for earrings and $80 for the bangles.  I am actually looking at getting different pieces for family members for the upcoming holidays!

If you are interested in this unique jewelry, visit http://www.pomogalaxy.com/ for details and to order. I would like to thank Todd and Doug once again for their kindness and state my pleasure in meeting them at the D23 Expo.
