It Came from Disney!

About the Column

If Disney piled all its themed merchandise in one place, it would likely reach to infinity - and beyond. You see it everywhere: at the parks, online, in your neighbor's house. And you're tempted, sorely tempted, to make it yours: not always because you need it but because it came from Disney. For many people, that means irresistible. But fight the urge, just for a moment, until you've read what Jessica Clawson thinks about that irresistible piece of Disneyana. Chances are, she has already succumbed to the urge - and now, temporarily recovered, wants to tell you whether it was worth it.

Three Photo Mickey Ear Frame

What if you had not one, not two, but three very special Disney photos, and you wanted just the right frame to put them in. Jessica knows of just such a frame! It will hold your three pictures, and it will display them in the shape of Mickey ears!

I've written before about displaying your Disney memories around the house, and how all you need is the right equipment to do it. This is another example of the right display: a Mickey Ear Frame!

This frame is 14" x 12", made from cherry wood, and features that famous silhouette as the three picture holes. The back has a hook for the wall and also a fold-out leg in case you want to stand the frame on a desk or a table.

The one difficulty with this frame is that it doesn't accommodate standard sized photos. You'll have to size your photos to fit into the frame's head and ear holes. It's a bit more work, but for me, the effect of the frame is worth the added effort.

My family purchased this frame on our trip to Walt Disney World in 2007. I'm not sure if the same frame is still available in the parks. It's not listed on the DisneyStore website, but I was able to find it on Amazon, though a vendor called the Magical Memories Store fulfills the order. Cost: about $24.

Magical Memories has its own site where they sell not only this frame but quite a bit of other Disney merchandise, too.
