Dining with Character

You're eating a nice meal on the town when some strange character interrupts and starts acting strangely. Waiter! Hold on, it's Disney! You WANT your meal interrupted. Keith Anderson serves up the best Disney character dining experiences.

Everyone loves dining with Disney characters when they visit Walt Disney World. Disney makes available quite a few options for families around the parks and resorts for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Character meals are extremely popular - in fact, of the three hardest dining reservations to make, two are for character meals.

As wtih most anything else, however, a little goes a long way.

The one complaint I hear most often from clients is that they had booked too many character meals, and after a few, their kids got sick of the characters' constant interruptions and the adults tired of the typical character meal fare.

Pick one or two that work well for your family and enjoy!

Your options are:

Magic Kingdom

  • Crystal Palace
Located in a beautiful glass building near the end of Main Street, the Crystal Palace features Pooh, Tigger, Eyeore, and Piglet for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  • Cinderella's Royal Table
Found on the second floor of Cinderella Castle, you can dine with Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother for all three meals. Cinderella often has friends over, including Snow White, Belle, and Jasmine.

Epcot

  • Garden Grill
The Chip and Dale Garden Feast is held every evening in the Land Pavillion with Chip, Dale, Pluto, and Farmer Mickey.
  • Princess Storybook Dining
Located in Akershus, at Epcot's Norway Pavilion, you can dine with your favorite princesses three meals a day. Though you won't find Cinderella here, you will find Belle, Jasmine, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Mary Poppins, and Ariel.

Hollywood Studios

  • Playhouse Disney
Breakfast and lunch in Hollywood and Vine features your favorite Playhouse Disney characters, including Special Agent Oso, Handy Manny, and the Little Einsteins. If you have toddlers who lover Playhouse Disney, don't miss this.

Animal Kingdom Park

  • Donald's Safari Breakfast
Donald has taken his troop and moved to Tusker House (for good). He now hosts breakfast each day in fine safari fashion with his friends Diasy, Goofy, and Mickey.

Disney Resorts

  • Beach Club: Cape May Cafe
Goofy hosts a beach style breakfast buffet each day with Minnie and Donald just off the Beach Club lobby.
  • Contemporary: Chef Mickey's
Located on the huge third floor, Mickey holds a raucous party for breakfast and dinner each day. Along with Chef Mickey, you can see Chef Goofy and Chip 'n Dale.
  • Grand Floridian: 1900 Park Fare
During breakfast, you'll find Mary Poppins at the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast along with Alice in Wonderland. During dinner, Cinderella hosts Cinderella's Gala Feast, where you can also meet Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, and the evil Step Sisters.
  • Polynesian: 'Ohana
Every morning, you can find Lilo and Stitch rocking out with Mickey and Pluto. Food is served family style.

Quite a bit to choose from! Pick one or two, and enjoy your vacation.
